Around 2 billion people globally do not have access to clean and safe drinking water and the number of people facing water scarcity in urban cities is expected to double to between 1.7 billion and 2.4 billion [1]. Climate change is only worsening this problem and as important as it is to implement long-term solutions, we still need to provide short-term relief to communities who are affected greatly.
This initiative aims to install water pumps in low and middle income regions to bring clean drinking water to areas lacking access to this scarce but fundamental resource. We plan to partner with organizations such as The Water Project, BridgIT Water Foundation, Water for People, Wells of Life, Save Indian Farmers, and others to collect donations and build water wells in India, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia, Uganda, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Tanzania, and more. We hope to improve access to clean water for underprivileged populations and help ensure the affirmation of a basic human right.
